Wirral Met College has picked up a Commendation at the Civic Trust Awards for its Wirral Waters campus designed by Glenn Howells Architects. BCA Landscapes also played a key role as the landscape architects on the project.

The award recognises a commitment to the place and the people, as much as the architecture and environmental design, celebrating “projects that offer a positive cultural, social, economic or environmental benefit to their local communities.”

At a special ceremony in Winchester, the judges said they recognised the “successful collaboration between Peel, Wirral Met College and the design team, enabling the students’ curriculum to be integrated with the design and construction of the project – helping to shape their careers and creating a bright future for Birkenhead’s docks.”
